Truck and trailer in Osceola: your Guide to routes, parking, and fuel

Quick overview

Osceola is straightforward for heavy vehicles if you plan your approach. Use I‑35 and stick to the Clay St and Jeffreys Dr corridors for wide turns. Stage at a travel center when downtown is busy.

Fuel, food, and staging

Pilot Travel Center #131 — I‑35 Exit 34, 2010 W Clay St. Diesel lanes, DEF, CAT scale, showers, laundry, prime parking, and food options. Open 24/7.

Osceola Travel Plaza — I‑35 Exit 33, 105 Ariel Dr. 24‑hour diesel, convenience deli, paved lot, Wi‑Fi. Helpful backup when Pilot is crowded.

Casey’s, 1706 Jeffreys Dr — 24‑hour store, pizza for quick crew meals, and diesel.

Rest areas and overnights

Northbound and southbound I‑35 rest areas near MM 33 offer truck parking, restrooms, and vending. Check Iowa 511 for status and amenities before you roll in:

Routes to favor and avoid

Favor: I‑35 exits 34 and 33 to W Clay St and Jeffreys Dr. These roads handle wide turns and bigger rigs. Avoid: tight turns on Main Street downtown when towing. If you need the square, scout first and stage off-hours.

Winter and event notes

During winter, give yourself extra time leaving the ramps and watch for ice near the shoulders. During the fair or big events, plan to stage earlier at Pilot or the rest areas before moving through town.
